Where does wheat grow?
Wheat grows everywhere except in the tropics, as the variety of specially developed varieties allows the use of all soil and climatic conditions. Heat is not a problem for the plant if there is no high humidity that contributes to the development of diseases. Wheat is a plant so cold resistant that only barley and potatoes surpass it. Soft wheat prefers a humid climate and is common in Western Europe and Australia. Durum wheat loves a drier climate and is grown in the USA, Canada, North Africa and Asia. Winter wheat prevails in areas where it is not damaged by frost, for example, in the North Caucasus, in the Central Black Earth region of Russia. Yarovaya wheat is grown in the Southern Urals, Western Siberia and Altai.
