Vacation SVG – temporary release from work on weekdays for a certain period of time for rest and other social purposes, while maintaining the previous place of work. Depending on the length of service, the state and place of work (private sector, public institutions, especially dangerous areas of activity, armed forces, etc.), the conditions and duration of vacation may vary significantly, depending on the employment contract, contract, constitution, laws of the federal or regional level. Despite the fact that the need for human rest has been recognized for a long time, the official concept of “vacation” in Europe only emerged at the end of the XIX century, and in Russia at the beginning of the XX century, when the establishment of indefinite leave for military personnel. In Russia, the procedure for granting annual paid leave is regulated by the Labour Code of the Russian Federation (Article 122).

There are also other types of holidays in addition to holiday time:
- For temporary incapacity for work;
- Maternity leave (maternity leave)
- Parental leave;
- Indefinite leave.
- There are educational leaves for workers and employees. In addition to paid leave, there are also unpaid leave or leave without pay (without pay).
If an employee has not exercised the right to leave, he/she is paid compensation for the unused leave, calculated according to the number of days of leave not taken away. Vacation dates may affect both the amount of vacation pay and the amount of payment for working days outside the vacation.
