A proverb is a short statement that has literally (scythe – maiden beauty) or figurative meaning (which is why the cheese-beat broke out). Folkloristics refers proverbs to phraseology.
The saying can not only describe any aspect of life, but also contain folk wisdom (in the crowd, but no offense), which is less clearly expressed in the proverb than in the proverb. This common property makes some proverbs difficult to distinguish from proverbs, so they are attributed to a single group of proverb-signatory language aphorisms.
