Orange SVG (lat. Citrus sinensis) – a type of flowering plants of the class dicotyledon, the order of sapindosvetnye, families rutovye, genus citrus. Orange is a cultural hybrid form, bred, most likely, by crossing the mandarin and pome.
The orange is named after the Dutch word appelsien or the German word Apfelsine, which translates as “apple from China”, “Chinese apple”.
Orange SVG – description and characteristics. How oranges grow.
The orange plant is a powerful enough evergreen tree, the height of which depends on the variety: strongly grown orange varieties grow up to 12 m in height, dwarf forms have a height of about 4-6 m, trees for indoor cultivation reach 2-2.5 m in height. The most compact orange trees grow up to 60-80 cm.
Orange SVG leaves.
Orange tree is distinguished by dense dense dense crown of rounded or pyramidal shape, and its shoots often grow spikes up to 8-10 cm long. Orange leaves are dark green, dense, oval in shape with a sharp tip, growing up to 15 cm long and about 10 cm wide. The edge of the leaf can be wavy, and at the very surface of the leaf there are special glands containing aromatic oil. One leaf lives about 2 years, and on an orange tree grow both old and young leaves, performing different functions. Young orange leaves are responsible for photosynthesis, they are used by the tree to breathe and the old leaves are a reservoir for nutrients. The period of intense leaf fall (about 25%) is in February and March, and another quarter of the old leaves the orange tree loses during the year.
Orange SVG Roots.
Orange roots, unlike other fruit trees, do not have the root hairs necessary to absorb moisture and feed from the soil. But on the roots there are special capsules with colonies of special soil fungi that form a mycorrhiza with orange roots. Orange supplies amino acids and carbohydrates to mushrooms, and in return receives moisture and minerals that mushrooms provide in an easily digestible form for the plant. Sprawling mycelium of mushrooms does not tolerate drought, lower soil temperature and bare roots, which grows, so oranges are very demanding to moisture, heat and suffer greatly from transplanting without earth coma.
Orange SVG Flowers.
Oranges have large walnut flowers of white or pink color, up to 5 cm in diameter, single or growing in inflorescences of 6 pieces. Flower buds are laid in early spring, flowers can stay in the bud stage for about a month, then open at a temperature of 16-18 degrees and bloom for about 2-3 days.
Orange SVG Fruits.
Orange fruit is called orange. It has a rounded or oval shape and a structure typical of other citrus fruits. Such a fruit, which comes from the upper ovary, is called hesperidium (one of the varieties of berry fruit). Thus, the orange fruit is a fruit and berry.
The orange flesh consists of 9-13 detachable slices covered with a thin film. Each slice contains a lot of juice bags filled with juice, which are formed from the inner epidermis of the fruits and vegetables. The taste of orange pulp can be sweet, sweet-sour or bitter.
Some fruits do not form seeds, but most oranges do contain multi-germ seeds located in a slice above each other.
The skin.
Smooth or porous orange peel has a thickness of up to 5 mm, its top layer, flavedo (zest), contains a lot of rounded glands filled with essential oil. The white spongy layer covering the rind from the inside is called albedo. Thanks to its loose structure, the orange pulp easily lags behind the skin. According to the variety and stage of ripeness of the orange skin is from 17 to 42% of the total mass of the fruit. The orange peel can be greenish, pale yellow, bright orange and orange-red.
Maturation time.
Orange is a rejuvenated plant, capable of repeated flowering and tying of fruits, so the orange tree can simultaneously contain buds, flowers and fruits in different stages of maturity. Oranges take about 8-9 months to ripen, and the ripe fruits can stay on the branches for a long time, and in spring they turn green again, and by the autumn they acquire a characteristic orange color. Seeds of fruits ripening during 2 seasons are of higher quality, but the flesh loses its taste and useful properties.
