Baseball SVG is a team sports game with a ball and a bat. Two teams of nine (sometimes ten) players each compete.

Baseball appeared in the U.S. in the early 19th century. It is believed that the game is based on the English game “rounders”. The first official match was held in 1820 in New York. In 1845 the first professional club was created. The game is widespread in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean, Australia, Japan, Korea and other countries. At the moment, baseball is played in more than 120 countries around the world. The World Baseball Championship has been held since 1938 among men and since 2004 among women. Baseball is most popular in the United States, Cuba, Japan, China and South Korea.

In the U.S., Japan, Czech Republic and other countries, softball, a simplified version of baseball, is also common and can be played indoors and on small fields.

Related baseball sports include cricket, pesapolo in Finland, oina in Romania and lapta in Russia.

At the 117th Session of the IOC in Singapore on 8 July 2005, baseball, like softball, was removed from the list of Olympic sports, both because of the lack of popularity in most IOC Member States and because of the disagreement between the IOC and the Baseball League in the USA, which refused to postpone its competitions during the Olympic Games. As a result, baseball was presented for the last time at the Olympics in Beijing. However, a return to the discussion of this topic after the 2012 Olympic Games is not excluded.

Baseball Rules for Baseball Mom SVG

In each individual game there are two teams that take turns playing offense and defense.

The goal of the game is to score more points/runs than the opponent’s team. The point is valid when the player of the offense team runs in turn all the bases (square (30 cm x 30 cm) of the pads attached to the ground) located in the corners of the square with the sides of 90 feet (27.4 meters).

Baseball is usually played with a ball the size of a fist, which consists of a cork or rubber core wrapped in a layer of yarn. The ball is covered with two layers of white leather with red stitches on top. Each team has 9 or 10 players. The corners of the game “square” are called counterclockwise “home”, 1st base, 2nd base and 3rd base.

At the beginning of the game, one of the teams (usually the home team) plays defense. The 9 players of the defending team go on the pitch and try not to let the other team score points. The away team is the first to play offense and try to score points. Points are earned in the following way: starting from the “home”, each player of the attacking team tries to earn the right to run counter-clockwise to the next base (corner of the square) and, having run, touch the base, continuing to run to each of the next base and, finally, return to the “home”, earning a point.

Before the player of the attacking team can start running, the player of the defending team, called the pitcher, gets up in the designated place in the middle of the playing square. The remaining 8 players of the defending team are also on the pitch, each in their own position.

The player of the attacking team, called the kicker, stands next to the house holding a round bat, usually made of wood or aluminium. The shooter’s waiting for the pitcher to throw the ball towards the house. Pitcher throws the ball towards the house and the shooter tries to hit the ball with a bat. If the kicker succeeds in getting the ball into the field, he must throw the bat and start running towards 1st base. (There are other ways to reach the first base).

When the batter starts running, he’s called the “batter-runner.” If the runner gets to the base, he or she is declared “safe” and becomes “running”, otherwise the judge declares “out”. If a player is declared out, he must leave the field and stay on the bench.

There are many ways in which a defending team can take an attacking player into touch. For simplicity, the five most popular ways are listed below:

Strike out: The shooter couldn’t earn the right to run to first base because the pitcher made three strikes in the same series of pitches.

Ground out: The shooter kicked the ball into the field, but the defending player picked it up and threw it to the player standing on 1st base before the shooter could touch it.

Force-Out: The attacking player had to run to the base (by the rules), but the defending player stood on that base with the ball in his hand before he could do so. Ground out is one of the many options for force out.

Fly out: The defending player caught the ball before it touched the ground.

“Tag out: The defending player touched the ball on the running attack team when the runner was between bases.

Each game is divided into inning periods, in which each team plays once in attack and defense. Each time three players of the attacking team go into touch, the teams are swapped (so each inning has six throws, three for each team). Usually the game consists of nine innings. In case of a tied account, additional innings will be assigned at the end of the last innings. A baseball match cannot end in a draw, additional innings are appointed before the winner is determined.
