Sunday SVG is the day of the week between Saturday and Monday.

The place of Sunday SVG in the calendar

In the ancient world there were several different systems of numbering days of the week, among which there was an “astrological week”, the establishment of which was attributed to Pythagoras, and according to which Sunday was the fourth day, as the orbit of the Sun, the luminary associated with Sunday SVG, according to the Pythagoreans, took fourth place in the distance from the Earth, which in turn was considered the center of the universe, according to the scheme: Saturn-Jupiter-Mars-Sun Venus-Mercury-Man-Moon. Another was the numbering of days in the so-called “planetary week”:

Sunday was the second day there. In mitraism – the religion that had its followers in the Roman Empire – the last, seventh day of the week.

According to the Jewish and Christian Bible-based calendar, Sunday is considered the first day of the week following the “seventh day”, Saturday (Exodus 20:10). In the Roman Empire, the first Christian Emperor Constantine appointed Sunday as the first day of the week and a day of rest and worship in 321.

Nowadays, Sunday is considered the last day of the week in Europe. According to the international standard ISO 8601, the first day of the week is Monday, and Sunday is the last day of the week. The first day of the week officially continues to be in the USA, Israel, Canada and some African countries. In the USSR, Sunday was considered the last day of the week. In a number of European languages (Slavonic, German, Finnish, Icelandic) the name of Wednesday is translated as “mid-week”, which may indicate that Wednesday was originally the 4th day of the week, not the 3rd day, as it is now in European countries.

In the programming of Sunday, according to the ISO 8601 standard, it usually has the seventh day of the week, but there are exceptions: for example, in the language of formulas Microsoft Excel Sunday by default has the first day number.
