Recreation – a state of Resting SVG, or a pastime, the purpose of which is to restore strength, to achieve a functional state of the body (recreation), time free from work. Forced inaction, such as waiting or serving a sentence, is not rest.
Usually rest includes the following stages: fatigue, relaxation, recuperation, entertainment and/or change of activity.
Entertainment activities: games (including computer games), food, conversation, amateur sports, recreational fishing, listening to music, radio, TV, art, reading books, picnic, bathing (sauna), volunteering and other entertainment and activities.
Resting SVG History
A short rest, such as a break or a dream, is caused by the physical needs of the body, which are necessary for its normal functioning.
Music, literature, painting and other forms of art, before becoming the main occupation for a number of people, were recreation in the stage of human entertainment (rock drawings, ritual dances, oral folklore). And today, being a profession for some, these kinds of art serve as entertainment for others – listeners, viewers, readers. But if some people are suitable for creative or passive pastime, then others (especially if the holidaymakers are united in groups) long aimless rest can lead to destruction, aggression, splash of energy accumulated in the process of recovery (so, young guys in the evenings walking around the village, looking for someone to fight with).
To avoid the negative consequences of such a long Rest SVG, people have always sought to organize themselves active and relatively peaceful entertainment. Since time immemorial, there have been entertaining fights or fights that are designed not to impress the opponent, but to show their skills, to train before a real fight. Entertainment fights have always been fought according to special rules, designed to exclude serious injuries and fatal outcomes. Antique Olympic Games, Russian fist fights “wall to wall”, knightly tournaments. They still exist today in the form of sports competitions. Today’s world championships, championships and Olympics gather the largest number of spectators around the world, and replace the people of war instead of an outburst of aggression.
Historically known forms of prolonged rest were collective. The oldest forms of collective recreation can be considered the festivals in honor of successful hunting, conquest of the territory and military victories. They already existed in the Stone Age in the form of dances at the fire, were further developed in the form of long feasts of antiquity and the Middle Ages – with plentiful food, libations, performances, fireworks and other entertainment. Today’s tradition of celebrating Victory Day on May 9, for example, also dates back to this ancient tradition.
When the development of mankind led to settled agriculture, there were also holidays tied to seasonal fluctuations in nature (in honor of the awakening of nature and the beginning of sowing works, in honor of harvest and the like).
The oldest forms of collective recreation are also holidays and rituals of various religious cults. All peoples celebrate a person’s birth, marriage and death in one way or another – all of these personal events in human life traditionally attract a large number of participants, and can sometimes be celebrated for several days. In addition to private or one-time occasions for festive rituals, each religious cult has an annual entertainment event for all adherents. These were ancient Bacchanalia, Slavic carols and Shrovetide festivities, festivals of ancient Egyptians and Mayan Indians.
These are the Jewish Shabbat and Yom Kippur (in these days it is completely forbidden to work), the Muslim Kurban Bairam and Ramadan (Ramadan), Christian Easter and Christmas.
If during a religious fasting, military campaign or heavy seasonal work there are restrictions on food, drink and, mainly, rest and entertainment, then during the holidays following them, the opposite is true: plenty of food, alcohol consumption is encouraged, but work or fight is not allowed.
Ancient history knows many examples of how hostilities ceased during religious holidays or the Olympic Games. There are still festivals where even a small amount of tension or activity is considered punishable (Sabbath by the Jews). As well as working, many holidays do not allow sadness and boredom.
